THE RUAPEHU DISTRICT
Taylor Lodge is conveniently located between both Ruapehu ski fields (Turoa and Whakapapa), just North of Horopito off State Highway 4. But there is more than just snow sports in the area – Enjoy hiking through the World Heritage National Park one of New Zealands Great Walks – The Tongariro Crossing. Mountain Biking options galore with the Old Coach Road Track, Mountain to Sea Trail, Uenuke Pines Mountain Bike Park to name a few. Ohakune is only 20mins away, or National Park is 15mins away for shops if you need anything.
MT RUAPEHU
Visit Mt Ruapehu with NZ's two largest ski areas - Whakapapa and Turoa.

With the new Sky Waka opened in July 2019, the largest gondala in the country.
Open all year round the Sky Waka takes you to the Knoll Ridge Chalet with a range of eateries available.

Ski and Snowboard from up the top of the Waka in Winter, or short alpine walks in the summer time.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
There are so many different Mountain biking options for the whole family available in the Ruapehu District
Mountain to Sea, Old Coach Road, Timber Trail, Fishers Track, 42 Traverse and the Bridge to Nowhere to name a few.

Bring your own bikes and safely store them at the lodge, or hire from many of the operators in the area.
HIKING
There are family friendly short walks, hikes that take you though bush and waterfalls, or across volcanic terrain.
